摘要

We report a Tm{sup}3+ doped fluorozirconate fiber laser suitable for the first telecommunicationswindow. We present a mathematical model and experimental measurements. The cw, low thresholdpump power of 15 mW, pumped by a Ti: sapphire laser at 778 nm, and a 85 mW maximum outputpower around 810 nm with a 85 slope efficiency against launched pump power are achieved. Thisrepresents a conversion efficiency of~95, which is the highest reported to date for any laser.Visible up-conversion fluorescence is also observed. We describe two different oscillatorconfigurations.
