摘要

This paper addresses some numerical results associated with pressure surge and its dynamic characteristics of propellant flow caused by a rapid thruster valve closure in the satellite propulsion system. The single pipeline propellant feed system is modeled to investigate the effects of orifice implementation into propellant line on the reduction of peak pressure and its damping-out. The parametric study has been focused on investigating the effects of various valve closing time, orifice size and location between propellant tank and thruster value. It was confirmed that the orifice is very effective as a means of the reduction of peak pressure and its pulsation. The analysis for optimal orifice size and location has been applied to the KOMPSAT satellite propulsion system, with its results verifying its design appropriateness.
