For many decades Terminal 3 at New York JFK International Airport has looked tired and outmoded. When Airways visited two days before the building was closed, T3's many blemishes and shortcomings were apparent: low ceilings, dimly-lit and narrow corridors, stained carpets, roofs revealing how rain water had found its way inside, and more. Indeed, it was no surprise that passengers have often likened T3 to an airport building in a Third World country.
