AbstractCross‐linked, isoporous polystyrene was prepared by crosslinking of polystyrene with pyromellitic dianhydride using Friedel‐Crafts acylation reaction. The catalyst and solvent used were anhydrous aluminium chloride and nitrobenzene, respectively. Reaction temperatures varied from 40 to 100°C and reaction times were between 30 min to 40 h.
