THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR, FROM NUTRItionists and dietitians to doctors, government officials and pretty much anyone who can find a soapbox: Eat more fruits and vegetables. Healthy, nutritious, disease-preventive, all-around good- for-you produce SHOULD bea big part of everyone's diet. You can never eat too much. In fact, with all the publicity singing their praises, you'd think we'd be having vegetable and fruit shortages, ala Snack Well's. Yet the Produce Marketing Association reports that sales of vegetables were flat last year, with fruit consumption up only slightly.
