The high speed rail cars Class 395 and their maintenance works are described as in the preceding chapters. Hitachi has been successful in preparing the prototype cars before commercial production, in starting their test running on theCTRL line and in reaching the top speed of 225 km/h in Dec, 2007, which is the highest planned speed in commercial services. The maintenance works have begun in the car maintenance depot with the test running cars, and the personnel working for that are getting ready for the commercial service. In 2009, other 25 train units consisting of 150 rail cars will be arriving to the site, and every necessary step will be taken to prepare for the start of the service scheduled in the year end of 2009 by further running the test cars, producing the series production on schedule, fulfiling the maintenance works, etc.
