The ITMA Asia 2005 exhibition, to be held in Singapore on October 17-21 2005, is expected to grow in size to become "the most significant textile machinery showcase in the East." The inaugural event occupied the entire 60,000 m~2 of the Singapore Expo exhibition site. For 2005 the exhibition site will be expanded to 100,000 m~2, it was announced at ITMA 2003 in Birmingham. The expansion will be adjacent to the existing Singapore Expo, with the expanded area to comprise a single-storey exhibition space, including space allotted for a registration area, an operations centre and a CEMATEX Centre. The inaugural show was an unqualified success, registering nearly 30,000 visitors. For the 2005 show CEMATEX expects some 50,000 visitors. The Japan Textile Machinery Association plans to make a strong showing at the event.
