There has been much talk about the manufacturing renaissance of the US economy for quite a time. In fact, payrolls at US factories have grown for five straight years with gains of more than 800,000 jobs. This marks the longest and largest stretch of US manufacturing growth in more than 25 years. The US aluminium industry is doing its part to bolster this growth, generating more than USD65 billion a year in direct economic impact. When all suppliers and related business functions are taken into account, the industry drives USD152 billion in economic impact, that is nearly one percent of GDP.
