Each spring we spotlight a few of the most compelling people, companies and organizations in the world of dairy processing. It's time again for our Movers Shakers! The rapidly changing dairy industry presents great challenges and opportunities for processors and those who work with them. Technological advances, shifts regarding milk's image, and continued industry consolidation, make for a dynamic and exciting dairy industry. Indeed, as this feature was being prepared the two biggest movers in the industry decided to shake things up even more. The news that Suiza Foods Inc. and Dean Foods Co. plan to merge (see page 11) shows that dairy is still in flux. Suiza and Dean were among our 12th annual Movers Shakers.
