A new sound has been designed to measure the individual lengths of the cervical canal and endometrial cavity as well as to assess the competence of the internal cervical os. In preliminary clinical trials, direct measurement of the human uterus was recorded in vivo in 50 patients. The anatomic data which were obtained appears to have clinical significance.
