ABSTRACTWe show that in the case of semiconfined aquifers the ratio of steady‐state drawdown to its gradient with respect to the logarithm of radial distance from the pumping well, i.e. sm/(δsm/δ log10r), determines the transmissivity of the aquifer. A new method for evaluation of aquifer parameters utilizing this principle is proposed. As the method does not involve curve matching, it avoids subjectivity. We illustrate the method with an exam
