AbstractIn viscose rayon samples subjected to cyclic loading the phenomenon of supertension was observed as a variation of the linear elasticity limit in the consecutive cycles. To enable a mathematical description of this phenomenon a rheological model with an inertional‐frictional element was devised. The curves calculated on the basis of the model well approximated the experimental result
