Dr. McKay's questions about the grievance process present a much appreciated opportunity to describe how the process works now that there have been organizational changes owing to the creation of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). The grievance process originally was established by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (the College) in January 1998. When ACOG commenced operation in January 2010, the grievance process became an activity of ACOG. The grievance process addresses complaints about Fellows' behavior that may violate the Code of Professional Ethics, is inconsistent with the ACOG bylaws' requirements, or for any other conduct detrimental to and inconsistent with the purposes of ACOG.
