Textile India Progress Pre-Budget Memorandum has urged the Government of India to remove excise duty on polyester staple fibre, acrylic staple fibre, viscose staple fibre, polyester filament yarn, nylon filament yarn and viscose filament yarn. The Senior Editors of the publication submitted the Memorandum dated 1st January, 2008 to His Excellency Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, Honbourable Mr P. Chidambaram, Finance Minister, Honourable Mr Kamal Nath, Minister for Commerce and Industry, Honourable Mr Shankersinh Vaghela, Minister for Textiles. The Memorandum was also submitted to Dr C. Rangarajan, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister of India and Mr A.K. Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
