A new high throughput LC-MSMS method was developed to facilitate increased testing for carbendazim in orange juice at low ppb levels. A gradient reversed phase high speed method was developed for the analysis of carbendazim on a 2.1 × 30 mm 2.6 micron core shell column coupled to a tandem quadrupole mass spectrometer. A high throughput injector that features a seven second injection time was used to help speed the sample throughput. Four commercial brands of orange juice tested positive for carbendazim at low ppb levels. An organic brand of orange juice did not contain any detectable levels of carbendazim and was used to prepare the matrix matched calibration curves. Good linearity was obtained from low ppb levels up to a 1ppm concentration. A blank injected after the 1ppm standard showed no carryover. The use of UHPLC with a high speed injector allowed an analysis to be completed within a one minute timeframe.
