Blending of fibrous materials is carried out for achieving more economical and fuller use of different kinds of raw materials and for obtaining yarns and fabrics with predetermined properties. Wool, a natural fibre, is considered to be the most acceptable fibre for apparel use with advantage of wear comfort. To achieve the purpose of blending, components should be thoroughly mixed as early as possible so that at the spinning frame a homogeneous mixture of components is achieved. Although, the homogeneous blending is an easy process yet it has some disadvantages in case of strength, elongation, feel, soiling tendency etc. Due to such disadvantages the concept of heterogeneous blending is considered.
