Important advances in our understanding of apolipoprotein B100metabolism have been made in the last year. Here we review a diverse group of studies designed to examine the underlying metabolic defects in primary hyperlipidaemia or to define the impact of diseases such as diabetes, nephrotic syndrome and thyroid dysfunction on the metabolism of apoB-containing lipoproteins.
