The 26th edition of the International Manufacturing Technology Show, IMTS 2006 opens its doors on September 6 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Sponsored by AMT-The Association for Manufacturing Technology, the show will feature more than 1200 exhibiting companies, occupy more than 1.15 million sq. ft. of floor space and attract 85,000-plus attendees. On display will be more than 15,000 new machine tools, controls, computers, software, components, systems and processes, all promising efficiency improvement. Pavilions geared to specific industries will ease navigation at the big event. Pavilions include: Abrasive Machining/Sawing/Finishing; Controls CAD/CAM; EDM; Fluid Power; Gear Generation; Machine Components/ Cleaning/Environmental; Metal Cutting; Metal Forming Fabricating/ Lasers; Quality Assurance; and Tooling and Workholding Systems.
