Jaguar's new XKR-S is not just a more extreme version of its already rapid GT. As Steve Cropley discovers, the 174mph coupe points to the set-up of the brand's next generation of high-performance models. The 60mph left-hander looked innocuous enough, but for me it summed up what makes Jaguar's new XKR-S so special. We came to it while driving in mid-Wales, not exactly flat out but with commitment, intent on giving the fastest Jaguar since the XJ220 a proper examination on the fine roads near Bala.
