The macroparasite faunas of four righteye flounder species (flounderPlatichthys flesus, witch flounderGlyptocephalus cynoglossus, American plaiceHippoglossoides platessoidesand Atlantic halibutHippoglossus hippoglossus) caught off the northern Norwegian coast at 70°N, were classified zoogeographically. The parasite faunas of all four host species were dominated by boreal parasites. This appears to be the situation with the entire area of distribution of these flatfish species. The relationship between the extension of the range of the host species towards the Arctic and the proportion of parasites belonging to the arctic group is indicated
