Mexico-based Lagermex, a member of the Thyssen Group and a supplier of blanks to Mexican auto manufacturers, has chosen a blanking line to produce tailored laser-welded blanks. The line was supplied by Fagor Arrasate, with U.S. offices in Bensenville, IL.It can handle coils to 80,000 lb. in widths to 80 in. and thicknesses to 0.12 in. processing at speeds to 300 ft./min., the line includes a high-tech coil-storage system, a high-precision uncoiler, computerized leveler and CNC feeding rolls.
