In last month's article, one of the "Lessons From the Mission Field" described how careful the missionary pilots are to solicit and provide pilot reports to others flying in the same area. They don't have much choice, as there is very little weather information available in the remote areas they typically fly in. Pilots in developed countries such as the United States have a wealth of information available, both before the flight and now even in the cockpit. That makes it even more unfortunate when an airplane crashes because the pilot did not obtain a complete briefing before departing.
