Quality in the United States has evolved rather differently over the past decade from in the United Kingdom. Here in the United Kingdom, where ISO 9000 is firmly established, the U.K. Quality Award is in its infancy. Conversely, across the Atlantic the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is widely recognized and it is the ISO 9000 standard that is just gaining support. This scenario, however, looks set to change.
