It was found that magnesium and its alloys have a high potentialities for the application in automobiles, computer equipment, portable tools and so on. The main problem in the usage of magnesium and its alloys had been their corrosive characteristics, but owing to the recent progress in manufacturing impurity-free technology, the corrosion damage is being drastically reduced. This paper reports the results of salt spray tests and exposure tests on AZ91D magnesium and ADC12 aluminum alloys die cast panels with paint finishing.
