A method of microweighing with the electromagnetic force and frequency characteristics of an eddy current transducer is presented. The amplitude of a rf current flowing through the eddy current transducer coil indicates the weight. A coilndash;plate system acts as the compensating electromagnetic force generator and as a displacement sensor. The advantage of the coilndash;plate system is that it can easily be placed in any desired orientation for lateral or vertical force measurements. Test results show that the basic principles of this system are sound.
