摘要

Brinjal (Solanum melongena L) is an important and popular vegetable crop of India. There is an increasing demand of its varieties for different culinary purposes. For any breeding programme, the relative magnitude of genetic variability, nature and extent of character association with yield and its related characters are very important. Information is not available on these aspects in the temperate region, hence the study was carried out at the mid hills of Himalayas to assess genetic variability toknow interrelationships of 13 characters and to understand the nature of direct and indirect effects of these characters on yield.
