The phenomenon manifests itself as a slow raising of the electrodes over a period of one to two minutes and by as much as 1 to 2 m above normal level. If the event goes unnoticed by operators, then severe damage to the roof panels and delta can result, as well as reduced effective power input to the bath. This article presents further hypotheses and countermeasures gathered since we first reported approximately one year ago.
