You might be surprised to know that you can weave a warp-faced fabric on a rigid-heddle loom! The loom is threaded as usual (warp threads are placed alternately in the slots and holes of the hed-dle), but the heddle is used for making the sheds only, not for beating. Instead, the weft is pressed into place with the shuttle in the same way as on an inkle loom.
