AbstractAn adaptive hybrid optical neural network using a high resolution video monitor as a programmable associative memory is proposed. This architecture is capable of implementing larger numbers of neurons with higher dynamic range. The proposed system can be operated in a high speed asynchronous mode with parallel feedback loop. The orthogonal projection algorithm as applied to the proposed system to increase the error correction ability is given.
