AbstractDynamic mechanical properties and impact strength of a blend of poly(vinyl chloride) with a copolyester thermoplastic elastomer were studied. The microscopic structure of the blend was dependent on the thermal history of the specimen. By an appropriate heat treatment, the blend underwent phase separation with an attendant severalfold increase in room‐temperature impact strength.
