China posted its biggest trade surplus in nine years in December, data showed as the country's booming exports showed little sign of trailing off. Exports in December rose 32.7 from a year earlier. That compared with a rise of 45.9 in the year through November, although analysts said the slower growth was due to the fact that exports in December 2003 were particularly robust. "Stripping out the base effect, China's exports were still quite strong in December. They were still stronger than many other Asian economies'," said Deutsche Bank economist Jun Ma.
