Oil-based plastic are mainly used for household electrical appliances and their packaging material. Most of their packages are thrown away shortly after products are taken out from the packages. Used plastic are either combusted or buried in land, which leads to consumption of gradually depleted oil and increase environmental burden. By switching from oil-based material to bio-degradable plant-based material, we will be able to lessen environmental burden. In this article, poly lactic acid used as packaging material is introduced.
