Excentricine(1), a novel skeleton tetrahydroisoqinoline alkaloid possessing an eight-membered oxygen-heterocyclic ring, was isolated along with eight known alkaloids from the roots ofStephania excentrica. The structrue of excentricine was established as1from spectroscopic analysis.
