AbstractEthyl–cyanethyl cellulose was treated with oxygen plasma using the RF glow discharge technique. Three different plasma‐treated samples, including gel fraction, soluble fraction, and newly polymerized product by small moleculars given off by ethyl–cyanethyl cellulose, were obtained. With the infrared spectroscopic technique, the structural differences caused by plasma were studied.
