AbstractA series of porous solids has been prepared by the suspension polymerization of mixtures of vinylidene chloride and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate with a nonsolvating diluent. Alteration of the monomer composition and concentration leads to marked variations in the total porosity and pore sizes of the solid polymers. Scanning electron microscopy shows that the suspension‐polymerized beads consist of a microglobular interior encapsulated in a more coherent outer skin.
