Southwest airlines is taking delivery of 33 Boeing 737-800s this year, with the first two scheduled to enter regular service on April 11 on the Baltimore-Fort Lauderdale and Chicago (Midway)-Fort Myers, Florida, routes. The 175-seat ETOPS-rated 737-800s will be deployed on longer stages from slot-constricted airports, and eventually to Hawai'i, Alaska, Canada, and Mexico. NORTH CARIBOO AIR has added a former Air Nova/Jazz Air 85-seat BAe 146-200 (C-GRNT, msn E2140) to supplement six Bombardier Dash 8s on oil sands support work. An ex-Air BC example (C-FBAB) serves as a source of spares.
