Spain has emerged as the world's 8th largest donor nation, according to the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Its official development assistance in 2006 exceeded US$3.8 billion. Spain, says DAC, has set itself ambitious goals for its development co operation through to 2012.
