Scrum growth hormone (HGH) responses to insulin-induced hypoglycemia were studied in 15 patients with endometrial carcinoma and 14 appropriately matched control subjects. Mean HGH concentrations were significantly higher in the carcinoma cases, especially at one-half, one, and two hours after the insulin administration (P 0.01). The explanation for this excess HGH secretion in patients with endometrial carcinoma is unknown, but possible reasons are discussed.
