A 2x2x3 factorial design experiment was conducted to analyze theeffect of operational variables on the removal of petroleumhydrocarbons from water. The experimental variables studied includedcontaminant concentration, coagulant type, coagulant use, and type ofsource water(pond and brackish). Effectiveness of centrifugationprocess was evaluated in terms of petroleum hydrocarbon(PHC)andturbidity removal. The experimental results showed thatcentrifugation with coagulation significantly improved the PHCremoval.
