The journal 'Infectious Disorders - Drug Targets' (ID-DT) covers the main discoveries in the field of microbes and related infectious disorders, focusing on both structural and functional aspects. It further provides among the best up-to-date reviews on 'hot' topics through special issues guest edited by famous specialized scientists. As an Editor-in-Chief of ID-DT, I would like to thank the authors, 'external' reviewers and Editorial Board members (and readers) for their key contribution to the growing success of our scientific journal. Of course, I am very grateful to all members of the staffs of ID-DT (especially to Drs. Marium Shahab and Qurat Ul-Ain) and Bentham Science Publishers, for their constant efforts and efficient daily support. I welcome this year the recent appointement of Dr. Zhijian Cao from the Wuhan University (P.R. China) as a Co-Editor of ID-DT, as well as the nomination of new Editorial Board members from the Pasteur Institute of Tehran (Iran), Drs. Kamran Pooshang Bagheri and Delavar Shahbazzadeh. These outstanding scientists will clearly help us in a fast development of ID-DT.
