"Composting really is only a 20- year-old industry." Even though young, composting has changed rapidly in the past few years. The industry's national trade association has been reconstituted substantially, momentum towards national compost standards is rising, and compost facility operations are improving, say the experts attending the recent annual conference of the U.S. Composting Council (Bethesda, Maryland).
