An outdoor photographer and teacher, I have headed the Photography Program at Northeastern University in Boston since 1981, after teaching at Harvard University for 13 years. Using my 8x10 camera, I shoot landscapes-rural and urban-contemporary housing, and architecture, largely in black and white. For the past eight years, I've also worked in color. In 2000, the Northeastern Photography Program acquired a Creo EverSmart Pro scanner, which we later upgraded to an EverSmart Pro Ⅱ to maintain compatibility with the latest Mac OS. The scanner became a tremendous resource for the staff and students because it was able to handle anything we threw at it due to its high-quality scans and plate size. And I was finally able to digitally archive 25 years' worth of my negatives, and create large-scale, exhibition-quality prints from my 8x10 transparencies.
