Beijing— Zhangjiagang Yangzi River Petrochemical Co. (YRPC) and Ningbo Fortune Petrochemical Co., both subsidiaries of Oriental Energy Co., have each begun producing on-purpose propylene using Honeywell UOP's C3 Oleflex process technology. YRPC, located in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, China, has begun producing 600,000 t/y of propylene. In addition to technology licensing, Honeywell UOP was chosen to supply the engineering design, catalysts, adsorbents, equipment, staff training and technical service for the project (PCN, 30 Apr 2012, p 1).
