This work describes a microprocessorhyphen;based data acquisition and analysis of a far infrared (FIR) spectrophotometer. The work shows how a microprocessor can be used to renovate an old instrument (a Beckman FS720 FIR spectrophotometer) into a modern and versatile instrument.
