Floor by floor, beam by beam, workers are demolishing one of New York City's last, most visible reminders of the attacks of September 11, 2001: a damaged office building that remains just south of the site where the twin towers of the World Trade Center once stood. To do so, they are using perhaps the most meticulous methods ever devised to deconstruct a modern skyscraper.
