摘要

The Boeing Company has been creative over the years to maintain its position as a leader in the aircraft manufacturing business. However, the past five years have tested the business plan in place and required Boeing to seek out new opportunities to gain back market share.Since the early 1950s The Boeing Company has been the leading aircraft manufacturer from the introduction of the first commercial passenger aircraft the Boeing 707. The Company maintained its profits through the 1970's when they developed the world's largest passenger airline, the B747 which included a double decker seating area and allowed for passenger transport of over 400 passengers. Not every project has been a success. The Boeing Company was defeated in a project that they took on to compete with the British-French Concorde, but due to lack of financing decided to scrap the Sonic Cruiser project.
