摘要

There has been no specific and practicable software solution for the planning and control of extrusion plants available on the market yet. Existing solutions have been developed for mechanical engineering or similar applications and are difficult to adapt to the requirements of process manufacture or process-oriented manufacture, as for instance, at extrusion plants. Maul Partner have identified this gap in the market and have developed a planning system on the basis of the APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) software of the company Quintiq. B.V. from Holland. This article describes the benefits, functions and typical project sequence of implementation. Up until today, there has been no exact and at the same time simple and flexible planning tool available for the extrusion industry and similar branches of manufacturing, except for expensive individual programming. The aim for the development of our Extrusion Management System (EMS) was to create a system comprising the entire value creation chain for the manufacture of the extruded product. This means planning and control of the orders, from the client's enquiry up to the delivery or even to the client's store, in other words - the development of a supply chain management system.
