Correspondence courses provide an instructional alternative for a diverse population of students currently entering baccalaureate nursing programs. These courses are versions of an on-campus course developed and taught by nursing faculty. Nurse educators must consider the advantages and disadvantages before choosing this medium of Instruction. Guidelines are given for developing and implementing nursing correspondence courses. This article reports the results of a study of correspondence courses at one school.
