Within the confines of the format of this pictorial series, the author-a flight attendant and 'volunteer corporate historian' for US Airways-faced a challenge to distill so much history. Not only of the title airline (itself with multiple incarnations: All American, Allegheny, USAir, and offshoot MetroJet), but also the stories of Lake Central, Mohawk, Piedmont, Pacific Southwest (PSA), Empire, America West, and the Trump Shuttle. Unfortunately the Arcadia black white publishing style does not do justice to the color of the modern airline world, and many photos are poorly reproduced. Nevertheless, this is a useful guide to one of the USA's major carriers, one with an already complex family tree and about to spring a major branch with the merger with American Airlines.
