High Energy Physics Group, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Kyoto University Single-spin asymmetries for charged and neutral pions in semi-inclusive measurement of deep-inelastic scattering with transversely polarized hydrogen target have been measured. The asymmetry involves two contributions; the so-called Sivers and Collins effects. The asymmetries associated with the two effects have been separately extracted for the first time. Moreover, a quark distribution function, the so-called Sivers function, has also been extracted from the observed asymmetries.
